Yesterday morning, I joined my friend Angela Alsobrooks to formally announce my endorsement of her as the next U.S. Senator from Maryland. Angela has dedicated her life to serving Prince George’s County and our state. I’ve been proud to work with Angela to deliver results for our community and I am excited by all she will accomplish for Marylanders in the U.S. Senate.

Maryland's Fifth District will benefit from a leader like Angela Alsobrooks. A woman of extraordinary conviction and courage, I am confident she is the voice our families need in the U.S. Senate. I am honored to support her campaign and know that she will bring her experience advocating for Prince George’s families and willingness to stand up for the most vulnerable to her role as Senator. 

I have spent over half a century in Maryland politics. In that time, I’ve met thousands of elected officials. Many have been able, principled, and generous public servants.
