It's about time that our representatives in DC stop lying to the voters about this debt deal being great.

They're selling this as though it's some amazing bill.

The voters would honestly respect it more if you guys told them it is absolute crap but you're voting for it anyway to avoid a default.

There's no need to act as though this is a win. The American people aren't dumb, though, spare them the lines about how amazing this thing is.

Everyone knows it's not and this is why they don't trust DC.

My name is Victor Avila. I am a retired ICE-HSI Special Agent who survived a deadly 2011 ambush by Cartel hitmen.

Now, I am running for Congress to bring REAL conservative representation to Texas's 23rd District.

Too often, the politicians in Washington DC just lie to us. Even the ones on our side. We see it all the time but it was REALLY obvious the past few days.

I'm not a politician. I took bullets for this country as an ICE agent. So when they lie about a bad deal, I don't mind calling it out. When they lie about the Southern Border, I REALLY don't mind calling it out.

It's high time that we restore honesty and integrity to our political leadership. That's been missing for some time. It's the only reason that they have allowed our country to be recklessly invaded for years on end. We're now reaching the point where that invasion is speeding up to levels we could never have even imagined.

I’d like for the Democrats and RINOs to look me in the eye and explain to me why they refuse to secure our border. It’s possible to do. They just refuse to do it.

I want them to explain to a man that has been shot in a cartel invasion defending the border why they refuse to give Border Patrol the resources to repel this invasion.

They have no explanation. They have no excuses. When I get to Congress, I will get the job done. It's VERY personal to me.

So, I want to ask you humbly today for your help in getting through this race and TO Congress. We're in a tough primary, against an opponent who refuses to truly protect our border.
