Senate sends debt ceiling deal to Biden ahead of deadline ([link removed] )
After a strong bipartisan showing in the House to pass the debt ceiling deal Wednesday evening, the Senate followed suit Thursday night and approved the legislation 63-36. The bill now heads to President Joe Biden to enact before the U.S. is expected to hit the debt limit Monday.
NCUA, federal regulators issue AVM proposed rule ([link removed] )
The NCUA and five other federal regulators are seeking comment on a proposed rule related to automated valuation models (AVMs) that NAFCU had called on the NCUA to prioritize. The agencies indicated the rule is “designed to ensure the credibility and integrity of models used in real estate valuations.”
CFPB reminds consumers of nonbank payment provider risks ([link removed] )
The CFPB Thursday released an Issue Spotlight analyzing deposit insurance coverage and reminding consumers of potential risks for funds stored through nonbank payment providers, such as Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App.
