During Pride Month and forever, I won’t stand for anti-LGBTQ+ attacks, and I’m hoping you’ll join me today in showing support for LGBTQ+ Arizonans. ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌  ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌  ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌

Happy Pride, John! Today, I proudly put out Pride flags on the ninth floor:

While I’m excited to celebrate the accomplishments of the LGBTQ+ community and spread love for one another, I can’t help but think about some of the awful anti-LGBTQ+ bills I had to veto this year.

In fact, Arizona Republican state legislators introduced so many harmful bills targeting the LGBTQ+ community that I set a veto record stopping them.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen them fan the flames of hatred either, John.

When I was Secretary of State, I hung Pride flags from Arizona’s Capitol for the first time ever, but they were quickly removed for no good reason:

A screenshot of two tweets from Katie from 2019. One is celebrating displaying the Pride flags she displayed while serving as Secretary of State, and the other is describing how the flags were removed.

This time will be different, John, because they won’t be able to take away our pride. 🏳️‍🌈

During Pride Month and forever, I won’t stand for anti-LGBTQ+ attacks, and I’m hoping you’ll join me today in showing support for LGBTQ+ Arizonans.

Sign on today to join me in telling Arizona Republicans that their attempts to sow division won’t stop us from building an Arizona for everyone, including our LGBTQ+ friends, family, and neighbors.

Thank you. I hope you enjoy a fun and safe Pride month!
