John,

It’s been almost a month since the Republican-led Senate walkout began, threatening to derail many of our legislative priorities and leave billions of dollars of federal funding for implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act on the table.

We can’t afford to miss this opportunity to fund climate action. Will you make an urgent donation to OLCV today and support our work holding these no show legislators accountable? [DONATE: [link removed]]

Oregon has a once-in-a-generation opportunity right now to receive as much as $8 billion in federal funding created by the Inflation Reduction Act–critical funding that will help us reach our climate goals by reducing pollution and accelerating our transition to a clean energy economy.

While other states are rushing to pass bills and create programs to invest federal dollars created by this unprecedented opportunity, Oregon Senate Republicans are walking away.

We can’t let them get away with this. We are doing everything in our power to hold them accountable and let them know that Oregonians want them to get back to work. Will you help by making a donation today? Your contribution will help us keep the pressure up through the rest of the session. [DONATE: [link removed]]

This session, we have worked tirelessly with our partners and climate champions in the Legislature to pass bills that will address our changing climate and protect the health of Oregonians. One of our biggest priorities–the Resilient, Efficient Buildings package (SB 868-871)–hangs in the balance. The bills in this package would help the people of Oregon access millions of dollars from the Inflation Reduction Act to transition their homes to clean energy, like heat pumps, for more efficient heating and cooling. This May we saw more days above 90 degrees than ever before and we are entering a summer that threatens to be one of the hottest on record. It’s more important than ever that Oregonians have the ability to effectively cool their homes using clean energy.

We won’t sit idly by and watch as Republicans in the Legislature threaten to stop climate action once again. We are doing everything we can, every day, to hold them accountable–through social media campaigns, mobilizing grassroots supporters like you to contact Republican Senators and tell them to get back to work, and working with our coalition partners to keep our priority bills strong.

By passing Measure 113 last November, Oregonians made it clear that they don’t support costly walkouts. Let’s not let these no show legislators get away with it again. Please join us in solidarity by making an urgent donation to OLCV today to support our work. [DONATE: [link removed]] We can’t do this without you.

With gratitude,
Lindsey Scholten
