We've made huge strides towards embracing diversity and including everyone in our community, and we know there is still work we have to do. Attacks on our communities continue, and the pain from last year’s shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs, which killed five people and injured 17 more, remains.
With trans youth under attack, drag queens being demonized, and hate crimes on the rise for LGBTQ+ Americans, we’ve got to double down on our efforts to promote equality and fairness. No one deserves to fear for their health or safety simply for being themselves.
This month, we recommit ourselves to the fight for LGBTQ+ equality.
This year, Democrats in our state legislature passed bills further protecting access to gender affirming care and reproductive rights as we continue the fight to establish Colorado as a safe haven for this care. Their activism and their success underscores again how important it is that we elect pro-equality, pro-choice Democrats at every single level of our government. Today, and every day, that’s exactly what we aim to do here at the Colorado Democratic Party!
As a party, we are committed towards building a future where everyone can feel safe, be accepted, and be celebrated for being who they are, and we’re so glad to have you with us in that work.
