Friend,

Times like these show how important it is to have elected officials who will put the good of the country first, people who will take the tough votes even if those votes are going to make getting re-elected harder. That's my friend and colleague Senator Doug Jones.

Doug represents a state where his vote to approve the articles of impeachment won't be popular -- Trump won Alabama by a huge margin in 2016. But Doug did not consider that when he cast his vote: He did what he knew was right based on the evidence and the oath he took to uphold our Constitution.

I respect Doug immensely for putting our country over politics, and now he needs our help. He was already facing a tough re-election, and right-wing groups are continuing to mobilize against him after this vote. If they can win back his seat, we'll have a hard time flipping the Senate come November.

Now I'm asking: Will you split a contribution between Doug's campaign and ours to combat these new attacks and protect his seat?

Doug has been a champion for election security, affordable health care, and fair wages during his time in the Senate. Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell would be thrilled if this vote cost him his seat.

We cannot let that happen.
