Hi John,
We’re excited to announce the release of our Energy Democracy Popular Education (Pop-Ed) Toolkit! It includes educational videos, factsheets, and a slidedeck designed to help organizers, community members, and grassroots groups align around and advance a common goal: winning renewable, affordable, and reliable power through community governance. |
Right now we’re living with increasing climate disasters, rising utility bills, and polluting industries that harm our communities and our planet. These issues are all connected, and we know that there’s another way.
Imagine if we all had access to affordable, renewable electricity—no matter our income or skin color. Our bills would be manageable, we wouldn’t have to choose between buying groceries and keeping the lights on, and our electricity would come from renewable energy sources that keep our environment clean. We call this Energy Democracy: a renewable energy system governed by people.
It might sound too good to be true, but this is already happening in cities across the country. From Boston to Florida to the East Bay, communities are rejecting the greedy and harmful practices of their current electric utilities, and reimagining an energy system that centers everyday people, workers, and our planet. Join us for a panel discussion with leaders from across the country who are building and advancing energy democracy in their communities.
