Dear Friend,
Last year, more than 126,000 unaccompanied immigrant children faced deportation in a broken immigration system. Studies have shown that children seeking safety in the U.S. who don’t have an attorney have a 10% chance of succeeding in their legal cases, whereas children with attorneys have a 70-85% chance of winning legal status in the U.S.
Our Young Center Child Advocates ensure that the kids we serve have legal representation on their case and that judges know the specific stories of each child.
Your support along with the entire Young Center community, helped us serve more children than ever before. This June, during National Immigrant Heritage Month, we want to shine a spotlight on the unique and resilient children we serve.
Children* such as:
- Iniku, a sixteen-year-old girl from Ethiopia, who dreams of becoming a teacher and then someday running a school when she grows up, just like her mom;
- Carlos, a thirteen-year-old boy from Venezuela who loves making art and wants to go to school to learn computer programming;
- Alessandra, a fourteen-year-old girl from El Salvador who hopes to open up a restaurant with her sister one day that features her family’s amazing spicy chicken.
Together, we can all do our part to help unaccompanied and separated immigrant children find safety. Find new communities. Find a chance to chase their dreams.
Help us fight for that future teacher. For the artist and computer programmer. For the kid who wants to feed the community. Help us make the world a more inclusive and hopeful place for children.
Donate today to fight for immigrant children and double your gift! The first $45,000 in donations will be matched by members of the Young Center’s Board of Directors and anonymous benefactors.
We could not do this work without you and the Young Center community. Thank you for coming together with us to celebrate the children we serve.
