Debt Ceiling Deal: Slightly Good, Mostly Bad, And Definitely Ugly
- House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s and President Joe Biden’s debt ceiling deal is short on fiscal sanity and long on profligate government spending.
- The current bill is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It could actually lead to higher overall spending levels next year, while encouraging omnibus spending bills thereafter because of a minor penalty on continuing resolutions.
- This agreement could lead to increased overall spending levels next year, potentially giving up on the $132 billion in real upfront cuts promised by Limit, Save, Grow.
- Heritage stands with the everyday American and behind every member of Congress who is willing to fight for fundamental fiscal change in Washington.

A Return to Fidelity: Princeton Professor’s Brilliant Move to Flip ‘Pride Month’ on its Head
- “Pride Month” jumped the shark as its overt efforts of sexualizing young children moved from the fringe to the mainstream. Parents and other Americans are rightly pushing back against woke corporate elitists who are targeting our children.
- If radical activists and politicians want to use June to indoctrinate children with sexualized content, then conservatives should reclaim June for Fidelity Month.
- Conservatives, led by Heritage board member Robbie George, are reclaiming the month of June by celebrating Fidelity Month instead, dedicating the month to the importance of fidelity to God, spouses, and families, as well as our country and community.
- Lawmakers should follow suit and support laws that precisely define sex, protect the religious beliefs of all Americans, and prohibit children from being experimented on with irreversible drugs and procedures that do not address the issues with gender dysphoria.

Education is About Forming a Student’s Character, Not Just About “Teaching the Facts
- There’s a Popular Argument that schools should “get back to the basics.” Stick to the “facts.” But education has never been just about “teaching the facts.” Education is about forming a student’s character—about cultivating certain virtues and habits.
- There is no such thing as a morally neutral education, in public schools or anywhere else.
- What is needed is a robust recovery of education in its fullness.
