Fellow Democrat,

We are excited to announce that the New Jersey Democratic State Committee has welcomed Saily Avelenda, one of New Jersey’s most respected and dedicated grassroots progressive leaders, as our new Executive Director!

Under the leadership of Governor Murphy, our Democratic Party has been able to drive a successful pro-growth progressive agenda while making significant gains in making our state stronger and fairer. But that progress couldn’t have happened without the partnership we have built with the grassroots advocates leading our party forward. Now, with Saily at the helm of our state party, we are confident that in this crucial year, we will be a stronger force for change than ever before.

Can you chip in today to help Saily hit the ground running with the resources our party needs to defeat President Trump and the Republicans in November?

Before joining the NJDSC team, Saily led the grassroots progressive organization NJ 11th for Change, which played an integral role in the election of Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill in 2018. Rep. Sherrill’s landslide victory unseated Republicans from a district they controlled for decades. Saily is among the finest progressive advocates in New Jersey and has a tremendous track record of bringing Democrats and grassroots organizations together to achieve our common goals.

As we continue to build a stronger and fairer New Jersey together, it is important that our leaders have strong ties to the communities we’re fighting for. Saily has worked with grassroots advocates, community groups, and progressives across the state to bring real, meaningful change. She embodies the core values of our party and we are confident that her leadership will help pave the way for continued success in the years to come.

Thank you,

Chairman John Currie

Vice Chair Peg Schaffer
