Day of Caring volunteers needed to help spruce up Pacific Building shelter in South Kitsap
Volunteers are needed to join a work party during United Way of Kitsap County's Day of Caring event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, June 23 at the Pacific Building, the future site of a homeless shelter, located at 4459 SE Mile Hill Drive, Port Orchard. This is a great opportunity to show your support of the shelter by helping to beautify the grounds and gardens.
Please register to volunteer before June 21 at the Day of Caring website.
Volunteers will help in sprucing up areas surrounding the building and are encouraged to bring rakes, brooms, battery-operated gardening tools, mowers, hedge cutters, wagons, clippers, gloves and hats. Individuals, groups and families (children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult) are welcome. Many hands make light work! Health and safety protocols will be observed. Please wear close-toed shoes and bring sunscreen.
United Way will provide lunch and special event t-shirts to all participants.
