John,
Deciding to run for office was not always a guarantee. Growing up, I
didn't see many politicians that looked like me, and I didn't feel
represented by those in power.
But once this community and I came together to put power back in the hands
of the people, there was one decision that was incredibly easy to make —
the decision not to accept corporate PAC money.
It seemed like a no-brainer to me, but it's actually not how much of
Congress operates. The sad truth is that limitless spending from dark
money corporate PACs, the NRA, Big Pharma, and the oil and gas lobby
controls much of what happens in Washington. Corporate PAC money exists to
keep young, working-class Black women like me out of rooms of power.
John, I'm not in
Congress to cater to industry lobbyists — I'm in Congress to deliver for
working families like my own. By refusing corporate PAC donations, I
ensure the only people I work for are my constituents, but it also means
our campaign is often at a disadvantage when it comes to fundraising.
We count on donations of $5, $10, or $25 to power our movement for change
and hit important fundraising goals. Tonight, we're coming up on our May
end-of-month fundraising deadline, and we're running behind our $15,000
goal.

John, will you chip in
$5 or any amount right now to show the strength that a 100%
people-powered movement can have? Your donation will directly help our
campaign go toe-to-toe with super PACs.

Growing up in North Braddock, the air was thick with pollution from the
Mon Valley steel mills. My neighbors and I saw firsthand how corporations
chose their own wealth over our health and put profits over people —
forcing communities like mine to rely on jobs that made us sick, while
making us believe we had no other choice.
My lived experience growing up in Western Pennsylvania is exactly why I
support a Green New Deal, Medicare for All, and the PRO Act. But standing
up for communities like mine doesn't make me a friend of Big Oil or Big
Pharma — so
John, I need your support to
ensure I have the resources to go up against industry lobbyists and make
progress for everyday families.
