During the TREC Meeting on May 16, Commissioners adopted changes to Broker Responsibility, license renewal, and continuing education. They also proposed rule changes, including one related to continuing education requirements, and establishing a new advisory committee.
Written public comments on proposed rules from the May meeting will be accepted starting June 9. Public comments are provided to the advisory committees and working groups from which a recommendation originated for their review and discussion. The most effective and useful comments detail specific issues with proposals.

Also during the meeting, TREC?s Chair, Scott Kesner, on behalf of the Commission, thanked outgoing Commissioners Jan Fite Miller, Micheal Williams, and DeLora Wilkinson for their years of service.?Executive Director Chelsea Buchholtz showed gratitude by presenting them with flags flown over the Texas Capitol in their honor.

The 88th Texas Legislature, Regular Session, began January 10, 2023, and ended May 29, 2023. This session opened with the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) and Texas Appraiser Licensing Board (TALCB)?following 358 bills relevant to the administration of the agency. ?A much smaller number became law, one of relevance to Texas real estate license holders: Senate Bill 1577.?
Sales agent and broker license exams are administered by Pearson VUE, a testing service company.? In an effort to gain input on important topics included in the national portion of these exams, Pearson VUE is conducting a survey of license holders in each state for which they offer the exam.?
