Subject: Maher for Congress Campaign Strategy - Update
Building upon Michael Maher's outstanding performance in 2022, the launch of the 2024 campaign has been a big success. With the 2024 Primary Election in California moving up to March 2024 instead of June, we accelerated our early efforts to consolidate support and begin the campaign's fundraising efforts. Both items are critical to unseating a multi-decade-serving incumbent Democrat Congressman and closing the partisan registration gap in the only remaining Democrat-controlled congressional district south of Stockton.
Steps completed and in process…
Step 1: Building an experienced and winning team. Team Maher enlisted Ann Kramer as finance director. Ann has significant experience in the Central Valley, successfully raising funds for Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Congressman David Valadao, and Congressman John Duarte. Leading the campaign strategy is Tim Rosales, a seasoned campaign veteran with multiple wins for GOP candidates across the country running in Democrat-leaning districts.
Step 2: Earning key endorsements. Michael Maher has earned the support of the Fresno County Republican Party, State Senator Shannon Grove, former Congresswoman Connie Conway, and a host of other local elected GOP leaders from the region.
Step 3: Develop a grassroots and voter harvesting program that will increase GOP turnout in the 2024 election and identify independent and Democrat voters who are willing to vote for a common-sense, local Republican candidate like Michael Maher. The campaign is building out the timeline and data required for the execution of that plan in coordination with local county GOP leaders and volunteers. Maher for Congress is scheduled to launch the effort in late summer.
The data and polling clearly demonstrate that 21st Congressional District voters are hungry for a Republican candidate like Michael Maher and will support him over a tax-increasing, career D.C. politician like Jim Costa.
