When I got to Congress, I hit the ground running, John. It quickly became clear how things would work under Kevin McCarthy’s leadership: Democrats propose solutions to our nation’s problems, and Republicans shoot them down.

The MAGA party is doing everything it can to hurt working families and degrade American values: Threatening to cut hard-earned benefits like Social Security, holding veterans’ health care hostage, attacking abortion access, creating loopholes for the wealthiest corporations, and that’s just the start.

I’ve seen the damage Republicans have done over the past 5 months, and I know just how much worse it could get by November 2024. We have to come together to defeat extremism in the GOP, and John, that work begins now.
