I wanted to reach out personally to remind you of our initiative’s May deadline in a few hours.

January 6th put us in entirely new territory for dis- and misinformation. More than two years since, we’re still seeing the consequences of the “Big Lie” on our election process.

John, it is not an exaggeration to say our democracy is at stake.

As the 2024 election approaches, it will take a concerted effort to prevent the next January 6th.

The George Washington Initiative is one of the only organizations working to tackle the grave threat of misinformation. As a retired US Navy Commander, I’ve spent my life devoted to serving my country and protecting democracy. I don’t intend to stop now.

With your help, we’re slowly making progress on essential technology to effectively combat disinformation ecosystems. But we can’t afford to slow our momentum.
