Dear Friend,

Last night, NCLEJ celebrated our biggest event of the year. Our 2023 Justice Maker Awards were a great success, showcasing our incredible work to advance economic, racial, and disability justice, and highlighting individuals who have dedicated their careers to helping marginalized communities.

Our speakers were truly inspiring – and their stories, which discussed their work on the forefront of social and legal activism, served as a collective call to action to continue support for NCLEJ’s critical mission:
* To ensure all families have their basic needs met, like food, shelter and water;
* To fight back against racial and gender discrimination in the workplace;
* To advance the rights and dignity of people with disabilities;
* And to end racially-biased policing practices that harm communities of color.

Thank you to all our incredible donors and the organizations, activists, allies, staff members, and special guests who joined us. And I’d like to especially thank our exceptional Justice Maker Award recipients, Heather McGhee and Brennan Torregrossa, for their efforts to advance justice for those who need it most.

Without your generous support, we simply would not be able to do our work. To the many guests who donated to NCLEJ last night, I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

If you haven’t yet had a chance to donate, it’s never too late to support our efforts! You can make a tax-deductible donation here. As a reminder, NCLEJ Board Chair Sandra Hauser will match any donation up to $25,000, thereby doubling the impact of your contribution. ([link removed])
