Today is the last day of RG’s Spring Membership & Redistribution Pledge Drive. It has truly been a glorious month and a half, and I want to thank all of you who have thrown down with us. Our Spring Drive goals were: Raise more than $1 Million in membership dues from 1033 members; ensure that at least 40% of our members have signed the 2023 Redistribution Pledge; and encourage vibrant membership culture by actively engaging our base in drive work and the political importance of membership.
From transformative fundraising trainings in multiple chapters, a phone bank hosted by the Transformative Investing & Solidarity Economy working group, a bagel brunch fundraiser in Michigan, a money-moving cafe in NYC, the Bay dropping an integrated campaign that combined local partner resource mobilization with drive goals, and RG hosting an All Member Call and the first of four Transforming Philanthropy sessions, it has been a doozy! And so I write to you, with less than one day left in the drive, with a full heart and feeling more committed than ever to RG’s community and culture we are collectively fostering.
This is why I think it’s important to share with you that while we have surpassed our redistribution pledge and membership goals, we’re still falling short of our income goal. As of today, we have $340K left to raise. Hitting this goal is vital to funding the programming we offer, the curriculum/resources we create, and the staff members that carry so much of it out! Nearly 75% of our budget funds RG's staff time (check it out below). That staff time means we're all looking forward to a summer filled with incredible education and training opportunities ( Transforming Philanthropy Series [[link removed]] , Organizing Summit [[link removed]] , and RG’s Internationalism Summer School [[link removed]] ). It means a whole team of organizers working with our 1,000+ members across the country to develop their leadership skills and bringing more young people with class/wealth privilege into the movement to end wealth hoarding. It means we can build deep relationships of accountability with our partners, and take the time to co-create on strategy and vision. It means we can reliably mobilize our base to redistribute **$100 million** each year to social justice movements (and we already surpassed this goal for 2023!!!).

So will you join me in paying 5% - 10% of your overall redistribution to RG membership dues so we can collectively keep organizing to end wealth hoarding? Will you join me in paying membership dues so we have an irresistible, welcoming, and joyful membership base? Will you join me in paying membership dues so that we can have a powerful membership base?
Because that is the membership culture vision that was laid out for us via member-leaders and staff, which I hope will inspire you to recommit to RG’s community, both financially through membership dues and physically through showing up and organizing with us.

RG is a community of emotionally resilient dues-paying 18-35-year-old members with access to wealth/class privilege building an ecosystem in alignment with leftist cross-class movement. We are a welcoming community where members show up courageously in broader movement through tactical development, transformative solidarity, and the full-hearted resourcing of RG's and our partners' work. RG is an irresistible democratic collective grounded in consistent commitment and agency. We center joy, celebration, belonging, trust, and humility. As we organize to collectively disrupt societal norms of wealth hoarding, we know that process, growth, and principled conflict are necessary. We are an expansive multiracial movement that challenges and sharpens each other through agitation, honesty, and reciprocity.
—Membership culture vision co-created by member-leader and staff contributions
Together, let’s live up to our collective vision of ending wealth hoarding by committing to fulling funding this work.
In solidarity,
Julia
