House Republicans have manufactured a crisis as an excuse to harm people and the planet by imposing work requirements for government aid and removing environmental protections – including fast tracking a methane gas pipeline. All of which would hurt our most vulnerable communities. The House GOP is making demands including dramatically gutting environmental laws in place to protect communities and mitigate the climate crisis. They have also managed to insert language mandating the controversial Mountain Valley Pipeline further endangering the communities along its 300 mile path. They also are demanding new work requirements for federal assistance programs, including food stamps, which will push people further into poverty. |
