The *Great Lakes Water Infrastructure Conference [ [link removed] ]* starts with two concurrent pre-conference workshops on the afternoon of September 19, followed by an Exhibitor Reception. The next two days will feature sessions on the following topics:

* Examining long-term trends in social and rainfall impacts on mid-size Michigan WWTPs
* EPA’s new 2023 Financial Capability Assessment Guidance with Financial Alternatives Analysis Focus
* How to operate an aquifer
* Untangling the role of digital technologies in storm water management
* Small Community Funding Assistance by EPA Region 5 Environmental Finance Center
* West Michigan career programs
* City of Kalamazoo’s holistic approach to selecting new process technologies
* Exploring policy solutions to increase implementation of green storm water infrastructure
* Current financing opportunities for water infrastructure through EGLE programs
* Increasing the industry workforce through marketing and training
* Using all the tools in the toolbox to decrease UFW/NRW
* Clinton Township Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) elimination work
* Furthering equity in our community - implementing Oakland County WRC's Water Affordability Plan
* Building an online training platform for staff sustainability
* Lead and Copper guidance session
* Rainscaping: West Michigan’s effort on treating storm water naturally
* Building redundancy and reliability into the city of Flint’s drinking water system
* Authorizing new or increased public water supply capacity from A to Z

* Incorporating water system improvements into a framework for multi-sector coordination
* An introduction to Wisconsin's water quality trading clearinghouse program

The target audience includes local drinking water and wastewater administrators and professional staff, planning officials, consultants, federal, state, and local governments, policy makers, and anyone in the Great Lakes region interested in this important water infrastructure work. Continuing education credits will be available.
