John,
Almost immediately following the Dobbs decision overturning the federal protection for abortion, the case of a pregnant 10-year-old seeking an abortion dominated headlines. It showed, in stark and horrific terms, how much pain the new restrictive abortion bans would cause vulnerable people needing care.
Every person deserves easy access to compassionate abortion care. Donate today.
Thankfully, that patient was able to receive the wanted abortion, but not without being forced to travel out of state to Indiana. Now, a year later, the state’s medical licensing board is punishing the doctor who performed the abortion with erroneous charges about patient privacy. [1]
We unequivocally stand with and support courageous providers who are putting not only their careers but their lives in jeopardy to stand up to the anti-abortion haters. Show you agree with a donation.
Todd Rokita, Indiana’s Republican Attorney General, was quoted about the case saying, “Like we have said for a year, this case was about patient privacy and the trust between the doctor and patient that was broken.” [2]
Ironic much? We know they don’t care about patient privacy – it’s why they stand outside clinics screaming at patients. We know they don’t care about the trust between a doctor and a patient – it’s why they mandated multiple trips and bogus and invasive counseling sessions before an abortion procedure.
We know they don’t care about patients at all. They only care about their end game which is to ban abortion nationally. Give today to help us stand up to this.
Sincerely,
Erin Matson
