Hi Friend,
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is considering a once-in-a-generation
change to how they manage public lands. As part of this process, they are
hosting a meeting in Reno, NV on Thursday, June 1st from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
to gather input from the public. Will you [ [link removed] ]plan to attend and voice your
support?
Historically, BLM’s management of public lands has favored extractive uses
over conservation and recreation. 90% of BLM public lands in the lower 48
states are open to leasing for oil and gas. The vast majority of these
places are also open to hard rock mining.
[ [link removed] ]Now, BLM has launched a comment period to gather feedback about the
ways it should balance its mission and focus on conservation, recreation,
wildlife, and cultural lands protections. This is a historic opportunity
to shape the future of public lands.
Please plan to attend BLM’s in-person meeting on June 1st in Reno, NV at
the Reno-Sparks Convention Center 4950 S. Virginia Street Reno, NV. We
need to participate in this session and show our support for a balanced
approach to the management of our public lands.
And if you haven’t yet, please [ [link removed] ]submit a comment to the Bureau of Land
Management today in support of this effort.
Thank you for your support,
