We just wanted to make sure you saw our email from yesterday about our May fundraising goal. Your tax-deductible contribution will support our efforts to advance economic, racial, and disability justice for marginalized communities, and ensure we have the resources to continue our mission.
Our End-of-May fundraising deadline is quickly approaching, and I’d like to ask for your help to meet our grassroots fundraising goal of $6,000. We’re working hard to make sure the month of May is a strong fundraising month for NCLEJ so that we can continue our critical mission to advance racial, economic, and disability justice. If you’d like to donate right away, you can do so at this link.
Since our founding in 1965, NCLEJ has fought for low-income people, people of color, people experiencing homelessness, people with disabilities, and other historically marginalized groups through groundbreaking litigation, policy advocacy, and support for grassroots organizing efforts.
We’re a lean organization that punches well above its weight. From expanding access to public benefits, to standing up for low-income workers, to securing major victories up to the Supreme Court, our work has helped improve the lives of millions of people around the country.
But here’s the truth – we can’t do this work without your help. We’re always asked to do more, but we can’t take on additional cases without the necessary financial resources to do so. Our work requires serious commitment and funding. Some of our cases even take many years to achieve full resolution.
We rely on the generous support of individuals to keep our work going. We need YOUR help to build our capacity so that we can take on more cases, set bigger goals, and secure even greater victories for America's most vulnerable communities.
By chipping in through either a one-time or a recurring donation, you can help us fight in the courts and on the ground to:
Expand access to critical benefits like food stamps, Medicaid, and unemployment insurance
Protect the rights, benefits, and safety of low-wage workers
Advance the rights of people with disabilities
Reform unjust law enforcement practices that harm communities of color
End unlawful debt collection
And so much more!
I urge you to make NCLEJ a priority in your charitable contributions. As a friendly reminder, all contributions to our nonprofit organization are tax-deductible.
Thank you,
Dennis Parker
