Curbside recycling collection will end on Wednesday, June 28 in Auburn. Beginning that same day, Auburn residents will be able to drop their recyclable items off at Auburn Public Works at 296 Gracelawn Road.
The recycling container will be available to residents 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. It will be located near the resident sand shed and brush drop-off area. There will also be compost bins available for those who wish to drop off compostable food waste.
Recycling will still be “single sort,” meaning residents can mix all their recyclable items together. Recyclable items must be clean, and include clear & colored glass, #1-7 plastic, tin/aluminum cans, cardboard (boxes should be flattened), newspapers & magazines, and mixed paper.
Compostable items include all food scraps, coffee grounds, filters & tea bags, dairy products, meat & bones, egg & seafood shells, fats, oils & salad dressing, paper bags & paper plates, napkins/paper towels, newspaper, and flowers & potting soil.
