While the overwhelming majority of Congress works to strengthen ties with Israel, some anti-Israel lawmakers are trying to undermine the U.S.-Israel relationship.
Last month, 14 members of Congress—including several members of the Squad—sent a one-sided, anti-Israel letter demanding the Biden administration impose new restrictions on aid to Israel.
This letter—signed by 9 members endorsed by J Street— falsely insinuated that Israel is engaged in gross violations of human rights while ignoring terrorist groups like Hamas, PIJ, and the Palestinian Authority’s heinous pay-for-slay program.
Now, Betty McCollum has introduced anti-Israel legislation that would create new rules and restrictions just for Israel, weaken Israel’s security, and undermine the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Annual U.S. security assistance to Israel is an essential component of America’s national security strategy.
In addition to keeping our ally safe, this assistance creates American jobs at home, protects American interests abroad, and promotes global progress.
Cutting American security assistance to Israel now would be detrimental to Israel’s security given the threats the Jewish state faces.
Just this month, Israelis endured an onslaught of 1,468 rockets fired over five days from Islamic Jihad in Gaza. Each rocket was fired deliberately and indiscriminately at Israeli civilians, seeking to injure and kill as many innocent people as possible.
This follows attacks last from the north. On April 6, terrorists fired 34 rockets from Lebanon into Israel, the largest escalation from Lebanon since 2006. Days later, Iranian-backed forces in Syria fired six rockets at Israel, showing Iran's commitment to using Syria as a new front against Israel.
This is NOT the moment to weaken the alliance between America and our only stable democratic ally in the Middle East.
Now is the time to accelerate our advocacy, not retreat from it.
Our May deadline is just two weeks away and we are $11,741 short of our goal.
