Hi John.
My job is to serve you, regardless of party. Whether we agree on every issue or not is beside the point. Everyone deserves a government that works for them – not just for special interests, big corporations, or the extremes of either party.
That’s why I’m pleased to pass along another quick update on new local events to help folks across the Kansas Third District. We’re here to serve every person and corner of our community >>
Passport Palooza – Thursday, June 1st
My office is hosting a Passport Palooza this week!
Have upcoming summer travel plans, but are running into issues with a stalled passport application or renewal? We’re here to help! My staff will be at the Antioch Library in Merriam on Thursday, June 1st, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM to assist you.
Please click here to RSVP for an appointment now.
New Pop Up Office Hours for June
My team is also continuing to host Pop Ups across the Kansas Third. This way we can be in more convenient locations to better serve you. If you need help with the federal government – everything from backlogged veterans’ benefits to Social Security issues – please RSVP for assistance.
Some appointment slots are still available tomorrow for our Pop Up in South Overland Park! Click here to learn more and RSVP now.
Here are our next staff Pop Ups that are coming up.

More Help Around the Kansas Third District
I also wanted to make you aware of some other upcoming events that may help you.
First, the Department of Veterans Affairs is having a resource fair on the new PACT Act soon. I was honored to help pass this new bipartisan law. It ensures 3.5 million veterans who were exposed to toxins overseas are eligible for the health care they deserve. If you or someone you know is a veteran who needs help, this may be an opportunity to learn about how the law can assist you.
The VA Resource Fair is on Monday, June 5th, from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, in Spring Hill. Click here to learn more about it.
I was glad to observe a Memorial Day bell toll ceremony at the World War I Memorial on this Memorial Day. We must honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, as well as ensure we care for those who return. My mother served in the U.S. Army for 20 years – it’s important to me that we honor the promises we’ve made to our veterans and servicemembers.
In addition, our local Small Business Development Center at my alma mater, Johnson County Community College, is hosting new events to help our region’s entrepreneurs.
Small Business Development Centers are administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration. They're a terrific resource for local small businesses. Kansas entrepreneurs may get business counseling, technical aid, training, and more.
As a member of the Small Business Committee, I’m making it a priority to connect local businesses with resources they can use to grow and hire.
Here are just a few new SBDC workshops that are coming up.
• IRS Small Business Tax Workshop – Tuesday, June 6th, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
• Business Basics in a Day – Wednesday, June 21st, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Competing for Government Contracts – Thursday, June 22nd, 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM
You can also visit our SBDC online to learn more and see how you can get help.
Finally, if you need resources to get help with gas prices, groceries, housing costs, health care, and more, please visit davids.house.gov/lowercosts to find help that’s available to you.
We’re always here for you, regardless of party. If you have any questions or would like to share your views, please feel free to contact me.
My warmest regards,
Sharice L. Davids Member of Congress
