When crisis strikes, women and girls are always among the most vulnerable. They are the first to go without food and lose access to education and essential care. They are more vulnerable to domestic violence and sexual and psychological violence as a weapon of war. But periods do not stop while women and girls navigate the life-threatening dangers of emergencies. We deliver lifesaving care in the most dangerous, isolated, and complex crises in the form of Dignity Kits so that even in emergencies, women and girls can manage their periods with dignity. UNFPA Dignity Kits include menstrual pads, underwear, soap, laundry detergent, and other essential menstrual hygiene supplies.
Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day, friend, so we’re asking you to sponsor Dignity Kits and ensure that even in the darkest of times, women and girls can manage their periods.
Dignity Kits are a critical part of UNFPA’s humanitarian response to help women and girls after being displaced. The basic kit contains 10 essential supplies and can be delivered around the world within 48 hours. Gifts from supporters helped us distribute more than 60,000 Dignity Kits across Syria and Türkiye after earthquakes displaced millions of women and girls.
