As a strong advocate for responsible government spending, I am sure you agree with me that any increase to the debt ceiling must include spending cuts.

My May 27, 2023, op-ed in The Hill explains why this is so important and why every area of spending should be included in the debt ceiling deal, which Congress will vote on this week.

Next week, I will be sending you an action alert to help us prevent Congress from funding the unnecessary alternate engine for the Joint Strike Fighter mentioned in my op-ed.  I hope you will respond by sending an email to stop that wasteful expenditure.
