The gun lobby is ramping up their efforts to reverse President Biden’s rule to regulate “stabilizing braces” – we expect a House vote on the deadly resolution in mere weeks. Stabilizing braces were originally designed to assist disabled shooters. But gun manufacturers, in yet another move to put profits over people, have redesigned and misbranded accessories as “stabilizing braces” in order to circumvent regulations, allowing mass shooters to more easily access dangerous weapons.

A “stabilizing brace” was used in Nashville, TN, this year, when three children and three adults were killed at their school. 

A “stabilizing brace” allowed the Colorado Springs shooter to kill five people and injure 25 in only minutes.

A “stabilizing brace” was used by the shooter who killed 10 people in Boulder, CO, and in Dayton, OH, to kill 9 and injure 26 more in just 32 seconds.

In far too many recent tragedies, mass shooters have used pistols paired with “stabilizing braces” to make them more lethal, essentially creating a portable, concealable assault rifle.

With mass shootings already at record levels this year, it is more important than ever to stop this irresponsible, gun lobby-backed crusade. The vote on this resolution is happening soon and we’re counting on dedicated activists to speak out today: Can you send a message to your Representative right now?
