In just a moment, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to my campaign for U.S. Senate in Arizona. Please give me a chance to explain why this request -- especially today -- is so important.

Here is the truth:

Tomorrow at midnight we close the books on our May Fundraising deadline. And when it ends, we have some important budget decisions to make.

Right now, we're well short of where we need to be in reaching our goals. That's the bad news.

These goals are not arbitrary either. They are what we need to raise at certain checkpoints in order to run a winning campaign.

And the truth is, since the last FEC deadline, our fundraising has slowed pretty significantly.

People who have given before are giving again, but we need a lot more new donors to step up and give for the first time.

I need you in this first with me. I am thankful you're reading this message and maybe thinking about giving, because I really need you before this deadline ends.
