Honoring America's Fallen Heroes on Memorial Day

This Memorial Day, as always, we paused to honor and recognize the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our great nation. We owe each of these heroes a debt of gratitude that can never be fully repaid. Having served in the Air Force myself, I have made caring for veterans and their families a top priority in Congress.

As your Congressman, I have:

Introduced the Veterans Mental and Behavioral Health Quality of Care Act to examine differences between the quality of care performed at the VA and in the community.
Cosponsored H.R. 1282, the Major Richard Star Act, to allow veterans who suffered combat-related injuries to receive previously denied benefits.
Supported legislation to end vaccine mandates for both active-duty service members and veterans.
Assisted over 400 veterans in our district with casework and benefits requests.
Honored 17 veterans this past year with our Congressional Veterans Commendation award, for their tremendous dedication to country and service.

There is no one more deserving of our assistance than our service members. You can count on me to continue fighting for our veterans, just as they fought for us!

In Case You Missed It

As Chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Subcommittee on Energy Policy, Economic Growth, and Regulatory Affairs, I hosted a committee hearing to investigate the Biden Administration's proposed rule to crack down on gas stoves. Bureaucrats from the Department of Energy did not to attend to testify why the Biden Administration is considering issuing a policy which would issue a de facto ban on gas stoves and other appliances.

Texarkana Leadership Class

Our wonderful Casework Manager, Gaye Beard, was one of 45 Texarkana area residents to complete the year-long Leadership Texarkana community leadership program. We are grateful to have such an amazing employee on our staff!

Positive Approach to Care

Area Agency on Aging and Ark-Tex council of governments Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, and 911 Emergency Communications programs hosted the CARE Conference with guest speaker Teepa Snow. The presentation was designed to help those caring for someone who is experiencing problems with thinking, memory, language, or behavior. Staff members, including our Veterans Services Caseworker and Casework Manager, attended to make sure YOUR congressional office provides the necessary support to our elders.
