Biden and Republican leaders have agreed on a new debt ceiling deal — and it’s not good. After weeks of holding our country hostage, they’ve finally agreed on a deal that strips environmental protections and makes life harder for working people while letting billionaires off the hook. The new deal would:

• Strip away control and protections from National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), which will pollute our air and water, 
• Approve the Mountain Valley Pipeline, a pet project of Senator Joe Manchin that would be the single largest source of greenhouse gasses in Virginia,
• Fast-track pipelines and dirty fossil fuel projects,
• End the pause on student-loan payments,
• And make it more difficult for families to get food stamps
