The Incredible Link Between Glacier Grizzlies and Moths

A bear digging for moths—fleeing moths are circled in yellow. (Photo from the study.)

Fascinating new research, made possible through your support, illustrates the incredible connection between grizzly bears and army cutworm moths in Glacier.

This study, from biologist Erik Peterson, is a deep look into the feast that takes place on mountaintops every summer, as grizzly bears get an astounding amount of their caloric intake from alpine moths.

Your support makes a real difference for science in Glacier. In recent years, GNPC supporters have made possible critical research into bears, lynx, songbirds, wolverines, and other animals!
