Contact your Representative and Urge them to Cosponsor H.R. 3697!

John,

NIAC has been fighting in Texas, Florida, and across the country against proposals to ban Iranian and other immigrant communities from the right to buy a home or property.

Our strategy has been to advocate at the state level to block the bills, explore legal options if they are enacted, and push for federal legislation to bar such laws from taking place.

I'm pleased to share some good news: Congressional legislation was just introduced to protect our communities from these xenophobic state-level property bans. By passing this law at the federal level, these discriminatory state-level proposals would no longer be enforceable.

Our coalition of immigrant and civil rights groups has been pushing for this crucial step, and NIAC Action is grateful to Representatives Judy Chu (D-CA) and Al Green (D-TX) for their leadership in introducing this important measure.

Now, we need your help to build momentum for the Chu-Green bill to become law. Will you take action and tell your Representative to cosponsor it today?

Take Action NoW!

Thanks,
Myriam

P.S. I can confirm that we helped BLOCK Texas from passing its discriminatory bill that started this trend! But they will revisit it next year, and many other states have hopped on the bandwagon. That's why we need to pass the Chu-Green bill before it's too late.

NIAC Action is dedicated to building political power for the Iranian-American community to advance peace & diplomacy, secure equitable immigration policies, and protect the civil rights of all Americans.
