This is huge — in an unprecedented move, the Republican-controlled Texas House has impeached Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Yes, the corrupt, scandal-ridden Texas AG who’s been in hot water for the better part of a decade was impeached by his own party and will now have to go on trial before the state Senate. Paxton is facing several allegations, including bribery, misapplication of public resources, obstruction of justice, false statements in official records, and more.

As a Texas House committee's recommendations for impeachment came in, Paxton tweeted “Overturning elections begins behind closed doors.” There’s a twisted irony in that statement, considering it was Ken Paxton who literally tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
