I’m writing today because our beautiful state of Minnesota, known for its pristine lakes, rivers, and wetlands, is facing a critical threat to its clean water resources. The Supreme Court recently ruled to severely limit the EPA’s ability to address water pollution. This decision could have catastrophic consequences for our district and state.
What’s more concerning is the stance taken by our current Congressman, Pete Stauber. Stauber has been actively working to weaken the Clean Water Act for quite some time, prioritizing the interests of big corporations and special interests over the well-being of the Eighth District. In his own words, he declared, “I’ve been working on this issue on behalf of rural Minnesota for quite some time and am very pleased with this decision.” This statement speaks volumes about Stauber’s disregard for the vital importance of clean water to our families, farmers, and businesses.We cannot forget the devastating consequences of contaminated drinking water that Northern Minnesotans experienced in the past. We must ensure that our water sources remain protected.
That’s why I’m reaching out to you today. We need your support to fight back against the assault on our environment and secure a brighter future for our district and our state. We simply cannot afford to have Pete Stauber in office another term, the Eighth District deserves better.
