Friends -
In just about 48 hours the polls close in New Hampshire.
And the fundamental question voters must consider of the candidates running is: which side are they on?
Are they on the side of the working people of this country? Can you trust that they will stand up to the drug companies, the insurance companies, and the fossil fuel industry, or are they just going to take their money?
I am in New Hampshire right now, and you cannot turn on the television for more than 10 minutes without seeing ads from some super PAC promoting Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg funded by people trying to stop our campaign.
That won’t end here, either.
So today, I am writing to ask for your help — not just to win in New Hampshire, but to run the kind of campaign that can stand up to the big money flooding into this race and do well in the states that follow, including a number of very expensive states.
Because I don’t represent large corporations and I don’t want their money. As long as we have each other, that is more than enough. But it means I have to ask:
If we want to change America, we’re not going to do it by electing candidates who are going out to rich people’s homes begging for money. The way we’re going to do it is build a mass movement of working people who are prepared to stand up and undo the damage that has been done and to reclaim our country from the oligarchs.
Thank you for contributing.
In solidarity,
Bernie Sanders
