He said ‘it’s time to require universal background checks, establish a national red flag law, require safe storage of firearms, and end immunity for gun manufacturers. At a moment in our nation when guns are the number one killer of children under 18, and when mass shootings are so common that many don’t even make the news, Lauren Boebert is wildly distorting the President’s position and spewing her usual toxic, divisive rhetoric: Law-abiding Americans shouldn’t worry about their right to bear arms. They certainly shouldn’t worry that background checks and red flag laws will place them in danger from criminals - from either side of the border. In fact, Americans who own guns mirror the general population, supporting common sense gun reforms like the ones President Biden is calling for. Such reforms are designed to target the main causes of mass shootings. When we talk to voters, we’ll tell you what they see as the real issues: for Colorado’s young adults and huge numbers of first-time voters, it’s gun violence. With Democrats running at full throttle in Colorado, we have an excellent opportunity to kick Lauren Boebert out of Congress.
