For too long, Minnesota’s cannabis laws have done more harm than good. 

It’s time for us to follow common sense and harness the proven benefits of legalization – from expanding our economy, improving our criminal justice system, creating good-paying jobs across our state, and creating more space for law enforcement to focus on violent crime.

That’s why, moments ago, I signed a bill to legalize adult-use cannabis in Minnesota. The bill establishes a responsible regulatory framework and includes an expungement process to help repair the legacy injustice caused by decades of failed criminal prohibition.
