In a rambling, unhinged speech, Donald Trump just described Devin Nunes as his “impeachment hero.”

“He’s the hardest worker,” Trump said of Nunes. “He’s unbelievable."(1)

Trump even seemed to admit that the entire conspiracy theory about Joe Biden and Ukraine was Nunes’ idea in the first place.

Trump is right that Devin Nunes was crucial to the success of Trump’s cover-up, but that doesn’t make him a hero. It makes Devin Nunes a disgrace to his district -- and voters have had enough.

Trump’s post-impeachment trial speech was one of his most deranged ever, described by reporters as a “vengeful, angry, fact-challenged spew.”(2)

And after senators like Lamar Alexander and Susan Collins voted against impeachment, claiming that Trump had learned his lesson, Trump once again said he did nothing wrong and that his call with the president of Ukraine was “perfect."(4)

But when he started naming the specific people who did the most to help him get away with the Ukraine scam and cover-up, Devin Nunes was clearly on the top of his list.
