It's when the GOP controls the governor's office and both chambers of the legislature in a given state, often giving them the power to manipulate maps during redistricting and get all sorts of terrible bills (think abortion bans and voter ID requirements) signed into law.

One of our top goals in 2020 is breaking Republican trifectas.

It won't be easy to flip a legislative chamber in these states -- but we've done it before. Thanks to supporters like you, since 2017 the NDRC has helped break Republican trifectas in Virginia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Kentucky.

- We're going to build on our 2018 and 2019 wins and make smart investments in state legislative races.
