From the Lever reporting it becomes very clear that there is a monetary motive behind the corruption of the Supreme Court. From Leonard Leo to Harlan Crow the work to overturn policies such as the “Chevron deference doctrine which stipulates that the executive branch - not the federal courts - has the power to interpret laws passed by Congress…” This kind of move will create opportunities for corporate America to legally challenge any federal agency regulation including environmental policies, abortion policies, and worker rights policies. The network of Leo allied entities that he funds to attack this legislation is legion and is built on top the conservative donor incentives being given to the conservative Supreme Court justices and their wives and children.
There is a through line between players like Crow and Leo to billionaire corporate types like Thiel and the Uihleins. The money of these few rich people drive the communications strategies that work to divide us on abortion, climate change, public safety, and race relations. These rich are an isolated grouping that wants control of America for their own wealth building. Because their goals are so narrow they even attack other conservatives that may step out of line like Disney or Blackrock. They eat their own!!!
We believe an important starting point to heal our country and build agreement is to understand the opposition. These Villains don’t care about the plight of the middle class or even that of conservative working people. They play to our anger over problems that they themselves create. They do this by misinforming us and stirring up hate and anger. We know not everyone will agree with our progressive politics.
But let us try and find some common truth that these Villains are destroying much of what we are trying to build which is a better future for the common family.
