Your Tax Dollars at Work: DHS Funds Groups Targeting Conservatives |
- Busted: A bombshell report finds the Department of Homeland Security gave a $352,109 grant to a University of Dayton project targeting conservative groups, including The Heritage Foundation, which it included in its “Pyramid of Far-Right Radicalization.”
- The grant was part of what the DHS called a high-priority Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program. DHS doled out $40 million in 80 grants to left-wing groups.
- The findings came out after the Media Research Center filed FOIA requests with DHS.
- The documents show “that the government is colluding with left-wing activists, academics, and state and local officials in an active effort to target some of the most prestigious conservatives and prominent political, religious, and media groups in the country,” wrote Media Research Center president Brent Bozell in a letter to Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, chairman of a House select panel on government weaponization.
