John,

We are running a powerful, progressive campaign for Congress here in the Texas 10th — and folks around the country are excited. One such supporter is Howie Klein from Blue America, who in his former life was a music producer for a number of legendary bands, including Green Day.

Today, Howie announced he will auction off a priceless piece of Green Day memorabilia to benefit my campaign. It’s the double platinum award plaque for Insomniac, which sold over 2 million copies. And it could be yours, if you make any donation toward the auction! [[link removed]]

We have three weeks left in the primary election, and this contest will help us fund the last pieces of our voter outreach campaign. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to own a piece of music history!

You can see a picture of the award on the auction page. The Insomniac album was recorded in 1995, during my senior year of high school. The rebellious energy of songs like “Brain Stew” was part of our soundtrack then — and a good boost even today, as we work to defend democracy in the United States.

Play some Green Day tracks, chip in $1 or more, and let’s go out and win, y’all! [[link removed]]

With high energy and an optimistic spirit,
Mike
