I am excited to share that thousands of people have signed the petition to support the addition of the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th amendment. This petition campaign has just begun. The U.S. Senate just held the first roll call vote on the ERA in 40 years and the majority of U.S. Senators voted yes. A caucus has formed on Capitol Hill to focus on enshrining the ERA into the Constitution. The fight for equality and women’s rights is more critical than ever.

With poll after poll showing that more than 75% of Americans support the ERA, we need your help to carry this momentum forward.

The Sign4ERA petition was launched by feminist leaders, including Gloria Steinem, Carolyn Maloney, Zakiya Thomas, the President of the ERA Coalition, Christian Nunes, the President of NOW, and myself. The goal of this petition drive is for the Senators and Representatives to see the overwhelming support the public has for the ERA.

Majority Leader Chuck Schumer held a historic vote in the Senate earlier this month. And a majority of Senators went on record voting in favor of the ERA. While the vote fell short of the super majority needed to break the filibuster, Senator Schumer, through a parliamentary procedure, is prepared to hold a vote again later in this session. The Senate needs to see that you, and an overwhelming majority of Americans, support the ERA being placed in the constitution. Add your name now.
