Comrades and Friends,
Thank you all for having helped make last weekend's general meeting well attended and productive. To recap, the chapter unanimously endorsed Alma Castro and Miguel Acosta, running for Santa Fe City Council in Districts 1 and 3 respectively. We also elected the chapter delegate for the 2023 DSA National Convention this Summer, Nikhil P, uncontested.
However, this leaves the chapter with an unfilled seat for the position of Alternate Delegate. The role of the Alternate Delegate is to serve as a backup if the Delegate is unavailable during parts of the convention, and may attend all convention functions and workshops. We urge members to consider applying to be the chapter alternate, as this is an excellent way to learn more about DSA at the national level, and get in touch with fellow socialists around the country.
If you are interested in becoming the chapter delegate, please fill out this form by Friday, 11:59 PM. After that, if there are multiple candidates running, we will host a poll over OpaVote beginning Saturday morning and closing on Sunday, June 4, at 11:59 PM.
Beyond this election, we will be having our reading group meeting this Saturday, 10 AM at Larragoite Park, and we will be reading Chapter 4 of "The State and Revolution".
Our friends at Santa Fe Mutual Aid will also be holding their monthly Community Swap later that day, from 12-3 PM this Saturday at 6600 Valentine Way.
In solidarity,
Eric Shultz,
Santa Fe DSA Co-Chair
