Today, we honor the selfless Americans who lost their lives fighting for our nation and our core values of freedom, liberty, and democracy.
These men and women made the ultimate sacrifice, and for that, we are forever indebted to their service.
I encourage you to join me today in taking a moment to reflect on what this day means to you and to our country. This year, especially, I’m thinking about the ongoing fight for our fundamental freedoms and democratic principles here at home. So while we can never truly repay the bravery and sacrifice of those who died in service, we can commit ourselves to preserving the principles they fought for. I hope you’ll join me in doing just that.
To the brave men and women who are veterans of our armed forces or are currently serving, we say thank you.
