Memorial Day is more than just a long weekend or occasion for a barbecue. Let’s pause to reflect on the weight of this day and what it means for veterans and families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty.

Today, we honor the brave men and women in uniform who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our country and the values on which it was founded. I am immensely grateful for every service member who gave their lives for our freedoms.

It’s a debt that we can never fully repay – but we must try. I pledge to ensure our country fulfills its promise to active duty service members, veterans, and their families by working to provide the support, care, and resources they need.
