Team,
I keep emailing you updates on the reproductive rights battles playing out in the courts because it really is that important. So here’s the latest: After the Supreme Court temporarily blocked a Texas judge from curbing the distribution of abortion pill Mifepristone, a federal appeals court stacked with conservative judges heard hours of oral arguments last week over the drug’s availability.
The appeal process will likely take months as it winds through the courts. Regardless of the ruling the appeals court hands down, the case will likely make its way back to SCOTUS before the ruling goes into effect, and they will decide whether to intervene or decline to hear the case.
But here’s the simple truth: We can’t rely on this rotating cast of state legislators and judges to make this life changing decision for our country. The only way we can truly protect a woman’s right to choose is to send enough Democrats to the Senate in 2024 and codify abortion access in law.
Will you make a contribution right now before our end-of-month deadline to help Democrats expand our Senate majority in 2024 so we have the votes to codify Roe and ensure it remains law?
Abortion rights hinge on a Democratic Senate. While I’ll always do everything I can to protect women’s access to health care, we simply need more seats to codify Roe.
Join me in standing with a woman’s right to choose free from government overreach by chipping in just $5 today so we can keep the Senate blue next year and ensure every woman across the country has access to this critical health care.
Thank you,
Mark Warner
